Deep-Sea Fishing Trips.   Please call (956) 761-2764 to book.

Captain Murphy’s offers full deep-sea fishing excursions. Our experienced captains have been fishing the waters of the Gulf of Mexico for over 30 years.  They work hard to get you the BIG fish you have always wanted to catch. Catches include (but not limited to), Red Snapper, Ling, Grouper, Shark, Triggerfish, and Kingfish (depending on the season).

Captain Murphy's provides everything you need to fish with; rod, reel, and all the bait and tackle.  You may bring your own gear (limited to one pole per fisherman), but Captain Murphy’s will not be responsible for it.

Deep-Sea Fishing guests are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks aboard the trip.

Small ice chests are allowed onboard the deep sea fishing vessels.

Alcohol is permitted, but NO GLASS containers are allowed on board.

Deep-Sea Fishing Description

If you are looking for a way to access the big game and tasty fish species located in the Gulf of Mexico waters, a deep-sea offshore charter fishing trip with Captain Murphy’s Fishing Charters will take you there.

Deep-sea party boat charters last 5 – 8 hours depending on the charter. The boats for deep-sea are large

Coast Guard inspected vessels that can carry up to 40 passengers.

Guests can bring coolers with their own snacks and drinks.

Alcohol beverages are permitted, but NO GLASS containers are allowed.

Typical species caught on the deep sea charters include red, vermillion, dogtooth and cubera snapper,

cobia/ling, mackerel (King and Spanish), dorado, amberjacks, sharks, sailfish (catch and release only), tuna, and grouper.

The Gulf of Mexico has a featureless mud and sand bottom. Most of the fishing offshore will take place on wrecks and artificial reefs that are located between 5 and 25 miles from the South Padre Island shoreline.

It is also a good idea to take some sort of motion sickness medication the night before and the morning of your offshore excursion. If you might be prone to seasickness we would also suggest our

Bay Fishing trip that stays in the calm waters of the Laguna Madre Bay.
